Sir: A study concluded that almost 700,000 children may die of pneumonia in Pakistan by 2030.The world pneumonia day aimed at raising awareness of the biggest infectious killer of infants worldwide.

Moreover, a few of countries are set to carry the highest burden, with 1.7 million children are set to die in Nigeria and India .Pneumonia is an inflammatory infection of the lungs that can be contracted through viral or bacterial infection. Symptoms include, cough with phlegm, fever, chills and difficulty in breathing. This disease kills more infants than any other disease. However, it is treatable if caught early enough and patient’s immune system is not compromised. Pakistan should take early and emergency measures to save our children from this lethal disease.
