Women empowerment is imperative for economic uplift of the country and women entrepreneurs must be promoted, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) President Malik Shahid Salim said on Sunday. Inaugurating the Career Fair at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), he said, “It is need of the hour to strengthen industry-academia linkage to endorse business activities and Rawalpindi Chamber is playing its due role in this regard. We have two million youth seeking jobs every year and only business activities can help lower unemployment in the country.” RCCI President Malik Shahid Salim said going beyond our conventional role to serve the industry and business, we have stepped in giving students a motivation to opt for business and research partnerships between corporations and universities. He also appreciated the efforts of FJWU Career Counseling Centre on organising such job fairs which specifically catered to female students of FJWU and other institutions of the twin cities. He further said RCCI always offered complete cooperation to students who wanted to convert their ideas into a business and this offer is also open for the students of FJWU. The fair provided organisers with a chance to conduct mock interviews and short list best resource from the university. It also helped develop linkage with industry and alumni.
