A female dancer identified as Sonia was shot dead in Peshawar on late Friday night.

According to reports, a man, identified as Mussadiq, allegedly gunned down the dancer for refusing his marriage proposal.

Details suggested that the suspect entered victim Sonia’s house and opened indiscriminate fire on her. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was proclaimed dead.

Police registered a case against the accused and started investigation to nab him.

Jahan Alam – a man whom Sonia considered as her brother – told police that the late dancer had friendship with Musadiq, who hailed from Charsadda.

Alam said that the late dancer had relations with Mussadiq but they were not on friendly terms these days, which left Musadiq upset. Musadiq, he recalled, had warned Sonia to resume friendship with him but she had refused.
