ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Saturday has decided to send financial misuse of the resources by the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar while addressing a press conference said that former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, brothers, daughters of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif allegedly misused the financial resources of the government.
Shahzad Akbar told that Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz used government’s plan for traveling which caused Rs340 million loss to national exchequer.
Moreover, a probe will also be carried in the use of Rs600 million by the previous government for personal use form the national exchequer.
Special Assistant to PM on accountability said that the detail about the misuse of funds and authority has been sent to the NAB for further actions.
Shahzad Akbar said that the government will ask NAB to hold independent investigation and also ready to hand over the record of Prime Minister House from 2014 to 2018 to NAB.
