Dolphin Squad police arrested more than 2,000 criminals including 85 proclaimed offenders and recovered more than Rs 3 million cash, 174 mobiles, laptops, 63 cars, 114 bikes, drugs as well as illegal weapons from them during the last 10 months. Superintendent Police Bilal Zafar informed that the Dolphin Squad arrested more than 2,000 criminals involved in dacoity, street crimes and burglary incidents and recovered 480 pistols, 98 rifles, four pump actions and more than 10,000 bullets from their possession. He added that police also recovered 707 bottles of liquor, 200 grammes of heroin, 46 kilogrammes of hashish, 6kg opium, 1kg white powder and 20kg gutka from these criminals. He said that the policemen of Dolphin Squad have arrested more than 85 proclaimed offenders involved in different heinous cases. The SP added that at least 174 stolen mobiles, 60 Saudi riyals, 1,000 dirhams, laptops, 63 cars, 114 motorbikes and more than Rs 2,900,000 have been recovered by the police during patrolling across the city. He said that Dolphin Squad has responded and helped more than 40,000 citizens on emergency calls received during snap checking and more than 1,200,000 cars, 1,300,000 motorbikes and more than 1,200,000 people have been verified. By promoting community policing, 76 missing children were recovered and reunited with their families. The jawans of Dolphin Squad have given security to more than 3,500 protests by ensuring effecting patrolling during the last 10 months, the SP said. Published in Daily Times, November 16th 2018.
