‘US committed to boost trade ties with Pakistan’

An official of the US Consulate has reiterated that the US government will play its effective role to boost business and investment opportunities with Pakistan to benefit its people. The US consulate appreciates efforts of the America Pakistan Business Development Forum (AMPAK BDF) in this regard.

These views were expressed by Mark Russell, Senior Officer, Commercial Service, US Department of Commerce International Trade Administration, Consulate in Karachi during his meeting with the delegation of AMPAK BDF here at a local hotel.

The delegation was headed by Nawaid Isa, Founder and President of AMPAK BDF, and Managing Partner at ICCMC, who travelled along with few US businessmen and investors from Houston to launch the Pakistan chapter of the forum in Karachi. Other members of delegation included Syed Nasser Wajahat, Secretary General, Pakistan chapter; Akhtar Shaheen Rind; Syed Turab Shah Secretary Corporate Affairs; Ali Pesnani, Secretary Investment and Banking; and Noorul Hasan.

Talking with the delegation members, Mark Russell lauded the launch of AMPAK BDF in Pakistan and appreciated efforts of Nawaid Isa, Syed Nasser Wajahat and other team members. “Your team has done a wonderful job despite the uncertain situation in the country. This is commendable,” he said.

“We are interested in working with AMPAK BDF in future and will explore more avenues to complement its efforts for promotion of friendly business relations between the two nations,” he assured.

He also shared a few ongoing and future projects aiming to enhance bilateral trade and investment and invited AMPAK BDF team to take it a step forward.

On behalf of AMPAK BDF, Mark Russell presented a souvenir to the Secretary Investment and Banking of AMPAK BDF Pakistan chapter Ali Pesnani.
