KARACHI: Over a week has been passed; but the police officials investigating the minor girl’s molestation case have remained unable to make any breakthrough in the case. Six-year-old S* was found near a stream in Korangi locality on January 19. After medical examination, it was confirmed that she was molestated. Her body bore several torture marks around the neck and hands. Despite the passage of a week the police investigators have remained clueless to make any possible progress that could help the investigators in apprehending the suspect or suspects. “We are trying our level best to probe the case and punish the culprits after arresting them,” said Investigations SSP Malik Sarwar Altaf. The police investigators has however yet to record a statement of a victim girl who has remained admitted at Civil Hospital, Karachi. “We cannot record her statement until the doctors allow us,” said Malik Altaf. “Most probably we would be able to record her statement in a couple of days as doctors have asked us to wait for at least two more days.” The police investigators are also seeking for DNA profile matching reports of the three suspects with the victim’s DNA profile. SSP Altaf said that the police would be able to get the reports in the current week as it usually takes at least two weeks. On the other hand, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Allah Dino Khowaja has also announced Rs1 million reward for the person who will assist the investigators in tracing and arresting the suspects involved in the rape of a minor girl. According to a press statement issued by Central Police Office, IGP Sindh held a meeting at CPO on Monday to review the so far development into the case. IGP stressed the police officials concerned to probe and arrest the suspects as soon as possible.
