Punjab Health Services Director General Dr Munir Ahmad on Wednesday said that the 12-day Anti Measles Campaign is in full swing across the province and during the last two days, a total of 3,712,006 children of six months to seven years of age have been inoculated. The Punjab Health Services director general said that skilled workers are executing their duties with dedication and professional zeal. Giving details, the Punjab Health Services DG informed that a two days target was fixed at 3,341,136 children but the vaccination teams of the health department vaccinated 3,712,006 children hence they have achieved a 111 percent target. Dr Munir Ahmad shared the data of a few big districts and said that during the last two days, skilled workers teams inoculated 372,556 children in Lahore, 161,402 in Multan, 166,321 in Rawalpindi, 250,892 in Faisalabad, 107,994 in Bahawalpur and 178,316 children have been vaccinated in Gujranwala. DG Health was of the opinion that the vaccine which is being used in this campaign is of international standards and is World Health Organisation certified. He said that the same measles vaccine is not only being used in other provinces but the other countries are also using the same vaccine which is safe and of best quality.
