LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Thursday which lasted for three hours. The meeting took a detailed review of different priorities relating to the provincial Annual Development Program (ADP) of remaining eight months of the current fiscal year. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the development of social sector will be given particular importance in the ADP. Sustainable development of different sectors including education, healthcare and clean drinking water are our important priorities and a realistic ADP has been designed for these sectors, he added. Our annual development program will fully portray the manifesto of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and will also ensure composite development of different areas of the province, he said. The chief minister further said that priorities have been identified for progress and prosperity of the people and such a development program has been devised that would directly benefit the general public. Special attention would be paid to empower the youth, he said. The chief minister said that the youth is the vanguard of the PTI and launch of a special program is being reviewed for their benefit. He further said that people living in southern Punjab and other less-develop areas will be given their rights and more funds will be provided for the development of deprived areas. The process of consultations with the assembly members will be continued with regard to ADP and cabinet meetings will be held at every divisional headquarters, he added. Provincial Finance Minister Hasham Jawan Bakht, chief secretary, chairman P&D, secretary finance and concerned officials also attended the meeting. Published in Daily Times, October 12th 2018.
