DADU: A man was electrocuted to death while 15 people sustained critical injuries on Sunday when an 11,000 KV electric wire snapped and fell on a marriage ceremony in Ghulam Hussain Gadehi village of Dadu district. Reportedly, Khalid died on the spot whereas injured persons including Iqrar, Zaheer, Tofiq, Mujahid, Juman and Awais were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Dadu. Meanwhile, Dr Abdul Razak Junejo said that the condition of all injured persons was out of danger and all possible treatment was being provided to them. The groom of the ceremony Ayaz Ahmed Panhwar accused SEPCO officials of utter negligence in taking effective measures for preventing such accidents in the region. Another villager said that the fallen 11,000 KV electric wire was still lying on the ground, but SEPCO officials did not reach the spot to fix it. Villagers appealed to the Ministry of Water and Power and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) authorities to conduct an impartial inquiry into the incident and take a stern action against negligent officers. Two children drown Two children drowned in a pond on Sunday in Yousif Panhwar village of Dadu taluka. Reportedly, seven-year-old Lakhmir Panhwar and nine-year-old Payaz Panhwar were on their way when they slipped and drowned in a pond. Meanwhile, villagers and local divers fished out their bodies. Lineman electrocuted to death Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) lineman Jamil Ahmad was electrocuted to death on Sunday while repairing a high-tension power line in Gahi Mahisar village of Mehar taluka. Reportedly, the deceased’s body remained hanging from pole for several hours. Later, villagers moved the body to the ground on self-help basis and shifted to his relatives.
