A number of journalists from Shikarpur held a protest demonstration on Tuesday after a case was lodged under the anti-terrorism act against their colleagues from the Thul tehsil of Jacobabad district. The demonstration was led by the district president of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Shikarpur chapter Agha Israr Pathan. Rahmatullah Soomro, Rahim Bux Jamali, Abdul Salam Unar, Muhammad Ibrahim Brohi, Tariq Nadeem Pathan, Jameel Mahar, Farhan Murtaza Abro and other journalists were part of the demonstration. The protesters demanded the higher authorities to take notice of the injustice being done with the journalists of Thul and termed the case as fabricated. According to the protestors, the whole episode was made up by the hospital management to implicate the journalists in a fake case which was sheer injustice. In Jacobabad, a good number of the journalists from the area including Zahid Kharal, Sarmad Kunrani, Hakim Airi and others held a protest demonstration in front of the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Office Jacobabad after a case was registered against the journalists of Thul and demanded the Chief Minister of Sindh, Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh and SSP Jacobabad to withdraw the case registered against the journalists of Thul. The protestors warned that the protests would be spread throughout the Sindh if their demands were not fulfilled.
