Disgruntled Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Agha Taimoor Khan Pathan, who contested election for the provincial assembly seat PS-07 constituency of Shikarpur from the platform of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), filed an application with an election tribunal in Sukkur about an alleged poll rigging on Saturday. Reportedly, the election tribunal has issued notices to the election commission offices in Islamabad, Karachi and Shikarpur and the applicant’s rival PPP’s candidate Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh to appear before the tribunal on the upcoming Monday for proceedings. According to sources, Agha Taimoor Pathan in his application has allegedly stated that the record of at least 15,000 votes was hidden in form-46 while form-45 was also manipulated to alter results. Agha Taimoor parted ways with the PPP a couple of months prior to the recent general elections and joined the GDA. Published in Daily Times, September 23rd 2018.
