ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor in response to Indian army chief’s harsh statement said that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness.

DG-ISPR warned India of stern military response and said that Pakistan is ready to give strong reply to any misfortune by India.

Maj-Gen Ghafoor said that India should act sensibly and should not try to disturb regional peace. Pakistan is a nuclear power and India should stop trying to test our patience.

The statement comes after Indian army chief threatens aggression against Pakistan.

Indian Army Chief General Bipi Rawat on Saturday threatened to take military actions against Pakistan saying that it is the time to give it back to them in their own language with not restoring to barbarism.

The statement came a day after Indian government cancelling a meeting between the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan on the side lines of United Nations General assembly (UNGA).

According to the media reports, Rawat said “We need to take stern action to avenge the barbarism that terrorists and Pakistan Army have been carrying out.”

“Yes it is the time to give it back to them in the same language with not restoring to barbarism,” he added.

Earlier, on Friday, Indian government called off the meeting of foreign ministers of Pakistan and India, which was scheduled in New York on the sidelines of UNGA.

The spokesperson of Indian ministry of external affair Raveesh Kumar confirmed that India has canceled the meeting between Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj and will not go forward in this regard.
