LAHORE: Assembly members from different districts as well as Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) office-bearers called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Thursday. Different matters of mutual interest including the political situation, development schemes and solution of problems relating to the general public came under discussion. Talking on the occasion, the Punjab chief minister said that PTI government will fulfill its promises made with the people. “We are working hard to provide necessary relief to the people in first 100 days,” he added. “The phase of hollow sloganeering is all over and people will be the witness to our government’s practical steps made for their welfare. Only lip-service was done in the past but the PTI government will return the rights of the people of Punjab back to them,” he said. Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar appreciated that Prime Minister Imran Khan has set examples of simplicity and austerity in the government and reiterated that Punjab will come up to the expectations of its “captain”. “I belong to a deprived area of Punjab and have full understanding of the everyday problems of the masses,” he added. “I feel the sufferings of the masses and we have common worries and relationship of pain,” said adding that a comprehensive roadmap has been chalked out by the government for the solution of problems of the general public. The Punjab chief minister asked the assembly members to keep a continuous liaison with the people and make every effort to solve their problems at the grassroots. Those who called on the chief minister included provincial minister Yasir Humayun Sarfaraz, assembly members namely Muhammad Tariq Tarar, Fida Hussain Wattoo, Saeed Ahmad Saeedi, PTI Leader Firdous Ashiq Awan and others. Moreover, Member of National Assembly from Nankana Sahib Brigadier (r) Ejaz Shah also called on Sardar Usman Buzdar. Talking on the occasion, the Punjab CM said that PTI government fully believes in the rights of all the communities and best facilities will be provided in the worship places of minorities situated in Nankana Sahib and other places of the province. The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights for all the minority communities, he said. It is also necessary to identify the needs of the people before deciding about their developing projects but the schemes relating to provision of basic facilities of life to the people were ignored in the previous tenure. However, the PTI government is fully aware of the problems of the people and is proactively working for their solution. Our every programme is focused on public welfare and punjab will be speedily moved forward on the road to development and prosperity, concluded the CM. Usman Buzdar also said that injustice, poverty, ignorance and aggression are main hurdles in maintenance of peace. “Pakistan is playing a leading role in efforts aimed at maintaining peace in the world,” he said. In his message, the CM said that the PTI government is fully committed for the maintenance of peace as it is directly linked with development and prosperity. “Pakistan is a peaceful country and its brave people, Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies have rendered invaluable sacrifices for maintenance of peace in the country. Those who have sacrificed their lives for maintaining peace are the heroes of the whole nation and the purpose of celebrating this day is to create public awareness about the importance of peace in their lives. We should pay tributes to the efforts of different organisations and the people for maintaining peace and should also reiterate the commitment for the elimination of wars so that the whole humanity could remain safe from this menace,” concluded the CM. Buzdar has taken strict notice of the tragic incident that happened with a lady doctor of Sheikh Zayed Medical College & Hospital (SZMC&H) in Rahim Yar Khan and sought a report from secretary health. He has directed to initiate strict action against the accused and also extended displeasure to the hospital administration for not taking prompt steps in this regard. The annual ghusal ceremony of the holy shrine of Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al Hajvery, popularly known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh – the Patron Saint of Lahore, was held on Thursday. Buzdar, provincial ministers Pir Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah, Mian Aslam Iqbal, chief secretary, secretary Auqaf and a large number of faithful attended the ceremony. Buzdar and others performed ghusal of the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh with rosewater and laid the floral wreath. Published in Daily Times, September 21st 2018.
