Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani while proceeding to Azerbaijan to participate in the 100th Anniversary of Azerbaijan Parliament, had a brief stay in Doha, Qatar and interacted with representatives of expatriate Pakistanis. He said that the Pakistani diaspora living abroad is an asset for the country as they play an active role in the socio-economic growth of the country. He said that the government acknowledges their contribution and hence sincere efforts are being made to resolve issues faced by Pakistanis abroad. Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani apprised the delegation that the government has provided voting rights to the expatriate Pakistanis and they can now play an active role in the political process of the country and make their voices heard in the corridors of powers. He said that the parliament of Pakistan would make all possible efforts to protect the rights of Pakistanis living abroad. It is pertinent to mention that the senate chairman left for Baku on Wednesday to represent Pakistan in the 100th Anniversary of Azerbaijan Parliament. The invitation of this visit was extended by Sadiq Sanjrani’s counterpart in the Azeri Parliament. The chairman of senate is accompanied by Senators Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel, Muhammad Ayub Afridi and Nighat Mirza. Published in Daily Times, September 20th 2018.
