ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar have been released from Adiala jail after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended their sentence in Avenfield reference.
Former Punjab chief minister and current PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif had reached Adiala jail to take former primer, Maryam and Captain Safdar with him.
Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar are being taken to Noor Khan Airbase from where they will leave for Lahore through special plan.

A large number of party workers were also present at Adiala jail to welcome their leader. Workers were chanting slogans and showering the vehicles of Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar with rose petals.
Earlier, The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended on Wednesday the imprisonment terms of the prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, son in law Captain (r) Safdar.
Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Captain (r) Safdar had filed a plea challenging the Avenfield verdict against them and the appeal has been accepted today.
A two-member bench, comprising of Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, heard the plea today.

The two-member bench ordered the former premier, his daughter and son-in-law to submit the bail bonds of worth Rs 0.5 million each.
