National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman Usman Yousaf Mobin on Monday inaugurated a NADRA mega center with a capacity of 32 counters, including eight counters for differently-abled persons and senior citizens, in Gujranwala.
Reportedly, NADRA Director General (DG) Saqlain Bukhari and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The DG told the media that over 3,000 citizens could avail National Identity Card (NIC) facilities on a daily basis in the center that would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
He said that every counter has a facility of data entry, snap and finger prints, and hence citizens could complete entire process at one counter.
He said that executive smart cards could be issued in seven days; urgent cards could be issued within 21 days while ordinary cards could be issued within 31 days.
One bed reserved for transgender persons in every ward
The Health Department has ordered administrations of all hospitals to reserve a bed for transgender persons in every ward. In this regard, DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Irshad Ullah said that the step would facilitate transgender persons in an appropriate manner.
ACE arrests revenue officer for corruption in land record
The Anti-Corruption Establishment’s (ACE) branch in Gujranwala on Monday arrested a revenue officer for his alleged involvement in a corruption case. Reportedly, a citizen Ahmed filed an application with the ACE accusing revenue officer Khizar Hayat of ‘intentionally’ missing record of five-acre land during computerisation of records.
He alleged that the officer had received Rs 45,000 bribe for correcting the record, but he did not corrected it.
Meanwhile, ACE team arrested him during a raid after initial investigation suggested sufficient evidence against him.
