Police, on Saturday, claimed that they arrested an in-service police official allegedly involved in house robberies in Defence Housing Authority (DHA). According to South Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Omer Shahid Hamid, police officers from Sahil police station arrested Moeed Nisar who was a serving policeman in the Prison’s Department. The police claimed that on September 2, Moeed Nisar along with his accomplice had committed a house robbery in Khayaban-e-Ghalib, DHA. The suspects had looted cash, foreign currency, jewellery and other valuable items from the house. The police said that law enforcers, after reviewing the CCTV footage of the incident identified the motorbike which was driven by Moeed Nisar, the suspect. According to the police, it was then revealed that prison policeman Moeed owned the motorbike in question. Reportedly, jail authorities informed the investigators that Moeed had been absent from duty since the last 20 days. In another incident, Defence police claimed that they arrested Dildar Ahmed alias Deshi and recovered a hand grenade and a stolen motorbike from his possession. “The held suspect is linked with banned Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM),” claimed SSP Hamid. According to the SSP, Dildar Ahmed along with his other companions had prepared four ball bombs, which were thrown at Zamzama in Clifton, Samama Shopping Centre in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Saddar and Safoora Chowrangi, back in 2014. “The motive was to spread fear and panic among the people and this mission was given to them by a man namely Shafi Mohammed Burfat,” the SSP claimed.
