Shikarpur police on Wednesday claimed to have foiled a bid to kidnap two youths near Sarfu Pattan, Katcha area of Chak town of Shikarpur. Reportedly, officers of the Chak police station and the Bachal Bhayo police station cordoned off the area and intercepted kidnappers while whisking away youths including 19-year-old Tofique Ahmed and 16-year-old Mir Muhammad Jakhrani. The kidnappers opened fire on police and managed to flee from the spot whereas police succeeded to recover youths from abduction. Police informed that the youths had come to meet women who were in contact with them for a week. In another incident, New Faujdari police station house officer (SHO) Ayub Dogar chased suspected criminals riding on a motorcycle. After crossfire from both sides, police arrested Hazoor Bakhsh Brohi in an injured condition while four other criminals managed to flee by taking benefit of darkness. Police shifted the suspect to the Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medical attention. He was wanted to police in several cases registered at many police stations. Meanwhile, police have started further investigation. Man, his minor daughter killed over old enmity between tribes A man and his minor daughter were killed on Wednesday by unidentified assailants in Nazar Muhammad Jagirani village in the precinct of the Chak police station. Reportedly, police informed the media that assailants broke into the house of Gulbahar Jagirani and opened fire on him allegedly over an old enmity between two groups of Jatoi and Jagirani tribesmen. Resultantly, he and his daughter four-year-old Aminat died on the spot while suspects managed to flee from the spot. Meanwhile, area police rushed to the spot and shifted deceased’s bodies to a nearby hospital for autopsy, and subsequently initiated investigation into the incident. The dispute between tribes has claimed lives of more than a dozen people from both sides. Man dies, four passengers injure in fatal accident near Shikarpur A commuter died and four other passengers sustained critical wounds on Wednesday in a fatal road accident on Shikarpur-Khanpur Indus highway in the precinct of the New Faujdari police station. Reportedly, a speedy truck was travelling from Quetta to Sukkur when it rammed into a passenger van. Resultantly, Hashim Pahore died on the spot while four passengers were left injured. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medical attention. The deceased’s body was handed over to his relatives after medico-legal formality. One of the injured persons Gulab Oad was referred to the Sukkur Hospital due to his precarious condition while other patients were discharged after treatment.
