Health and pharmaceutical sectors experts have stressed the need to take full benefit of latest research in the fields related to laboratory technology, diagnostics, surgery, transplants, physiotherapy, patients’ referrals and diets. They were speaking to Daily Times on the sidelines of a three-day exhibition, Pharma Asia International Exhibition and Conference, underway at the Expo Centre in Karachi. Dr Khursheed Nizam was of the view that for the health sector to be reformed along modern grounds, all stakeholders should be brought together to discuss how the sector could benefit from high quality international research. More than 500 delegates representing around 25 countries are attending the exhibition which also features seminars. The delegates are arrived from China, Singapore, India, USA, Britain, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and Turkey. The participating companies at three-day event will showcase 912 brands at different stalls. The companies belong to health and pharmaceutical sectors and many are leading in the field of research in these sectors. The organisers will hold over 30 seminars on health-related issues the during international exhibition. The seminars will be attended by national and international scholars, who will share their expertise in their respective fields. Dr Nizam hoped that in line with Prime Minister’s Imran Khan’s vision on health and education, the event would leave a positive impact on the international community, adding that the organising team was hoping that the number of visitors would be much higher than previous years. He said the new government was committed to delivering in the field of health and due to Prime Minister’s vision, delegates from more countries were eager to attend the event. “The event will enable participants to enhance their learning about latest developments in the health sector, besides, it will provide vast opportunities of information sharing and cooperation to all stakeholders in the health sector. The event will bring in pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturers, practitioners, medical equipment providers, medical institutions and universities, hospitals, clinics, laboratories and allied industry together with some of the most important and influential decision-makers in the region.
