Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) while taking action against the illegal advertisement/marketing of the Organic Farms Housing Scheme, issued notice to its sponsors on Saturday. Metropolitan Planning & Traffic Engineering (MPTE) Director Jamshed Aftab said The Organic Farms were located on Chakri Interchange of Motorway near Cadet College and were not approved from RDA, so as per law, the scheme is illegal. The owners of the property are running illegal housing scheme booking offices in violation of the Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. The RDA has warned all and sundry that without getting the requisite No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the RDA for launching of the housing schemes, apartment projects, commercial buildings, etc within the controlled area of RDA, all sorts of advertisement, marketing and development of such projects through advertisement agencies, private limited companies, civil proprietorships, etc is illegal. Therefore, RDA advises general public in their own interest that they should not make any investment in the Organic Farms Housing Scheme since its status is illegal. Otherwise, they themselves are responsible for their losses. Moreover, the sponsors of The Organic Farms are also warned to immediately stop the marketing of their unapproved/illegal housing scheme and should contact RDA for getting NOC/approval of the scheme as per law, otherwise, strict legal action will be taken against them. RDA Spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said RDA Director General Rana Akbar Hayat has directed the MPTE Directorate to take strict action against illegal/unauthorised housing schemes, constructions and commercial activities, booking offices and encroachments without any fear and favour.
