NAUNDERO: Hundreds of students & teachers of four government primary schools took out a large rally here on Saturday to mark the World Literacy Day. The rally marched through various roads of the city and culminated at Benazir Bhutto Press Club. The participants of the rally, holding banners and charts in their hands, urged the citizens to get their kids enrolled in the schools to get education. They were chanting slogans “Ilm Pirayo – Baar Parhayo” and “Sindh Bachayo – Baar Parhayo”. The organisers of the rally while talking to newsmen said that the purpose of today’s rally was to spread awareness regarding importance of education and to urge the parents that their children must get education. They said government is giving free education along with free books to all the students and the children outside school must take advantage of this facility. They went on to say that education is the only way to achieve the true development in the country. The teachers further said that days of forced child labour have gone and the only way left for the people is getting proper education to build a healthy society.
