Federal Minister for Defense Production Zubeda Jalal visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) on Friday. POF Board Chairman Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali received the dignitary and introduced her to POF Board members and senior civil and military officers. The federal minister was briefed about the production capabilities of POF since its inception in 1951. The POF Board chairman told the federal minister that POF was the premier defense production complex of the country, engaged in producing top of the line conventional arms and ammunition for Pakistan Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies. The chairman further informed the minister that POF is considered a lifeline for the Armed Forces of Pakistan. While mentioning the modernisation plan, the federal minister was told that old plant and machinery is being replaced gradually enabling POF to diversify its state of art product range. The federal minister for defense production expressed her satisfaction over the performance of POF being rendered for the Armed Forces. She said it was heartening to note that this gigantic Defense Complex has been meeting the targets of Armed Forces amicably. The minister assured POF management that the problems being faced by POF would be resolved as soon as possible. She was taken to the Product Display Lounge where she witnessed the entire range of POF products. The minister for defense production while endorsing her remarks in the visitors’ book wrote, “It was a pleasure to visit POF on this auspicious day of September 6, 2018. The services being rendered to the nation and its people are par excellence. May Allah bless all who are involved in this great venture.
