NAUNDERO: Sindh Health Minister, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho visited the Rural Health Center (RHC) on the wee hours of Friday and expressed her dissatisfaction over the lack of proper medical facilities available to the poverty-stricken people. The patients complained to her about the non-provision of medicines, non-availability of safe drinking water and other surgical facilities. After watching heaps of garbage, she covered her nose due to bad smell and expressed her dismay over the poor cleanliness as no higher official of Integrated Health Services (IHS) was present on the occasion.The minister visited Gynea ward, emergency ward and other wards. While talking to the media, Dr Pechuho said that efforts would be made to provide operation facilities round the clock for the betterment of women living here and in hundreds of villages around this town. She said that she was trying to make available all fundamental medical facilities at this RHC for the common man for which she herself has arrived to see the plight of the hospital. She said she will talk to the relevant authorities for making the RHC a 100-bed hospital as per the approved PC-1. The patients also complained about shortage of male and female doctors and specialists. The patients also demanded that emergency treatment and management facilities should be made available at the RHC to save precious lives. Published in Daily Times, September 8th 2018.
