HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (HCSTSI) on Monday hosted a lunch to honour its member of executive committee Nadeem Ahmed Siddiqui for winning a seat as the member of provincial assembly (MPA) in Sindh in the recent general elections. Reportedly, speaking on the occasion Siddiqui termed the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry as ‘the backbone of economy of Pakistan’ and asserted that he would resolve critical issues of the organisation on the priority basis. He interrelated issues of economy with the affairs of the business community, and said that effective policies were needed to be formulated to sort out those issues. He stated that he would notify Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah about the illegal allotment of 34 industrial plots to influential persons rather than industrialists of Hyderabad, who were the actual owners of those plots as they had already bought them. Earlier, chamber’s president Akram Ansari felicitated Siddiqui for his successful election as MPA and expressed hope that he would raise their concerns in Sindh assembly. Besides, former presidents of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) Amin Khatri, Masood Pervez, Haji Yakoob, HCSTSI vice president Daulat Ram Lohana and officials of business community were also present on the occasion.
