CALIFORNIA: Scheduled to take part in a news conference at Riviera Country Club ahead of this week’s Genesis Open, Woods will no longer be competing due to back spasms, after being “advised by doctors to limit all his activities,” Earlier this month Woods was forced to withdraw from the Dubai Desert Classic due to his back troubles. His foundation runs the Genesis Open in Pacific Palisades, California, and his scheduled presser was part of his duties hosting the tournament. It’s been canceled after originally being moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. While Woods’ schedule in 2017 was looked at as quite ambitious, this is no doubt another setback in the former world No. 1’s return to the PGA Tour. In addition to missing the Genesis Open, he won’t be participating in his hometown event, The Honda Classic, set to begn from Feb. 23 to Feb 26. Based on recent developments, there’s no way to know when Woods will return again to the golf circuit.
