KARACHI: The Chairman of Sindh Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Saleem Raza Jalbani has suspended Department of Small Industries’ senior official, Housh Latif Mughal for submitting unsigned documents to the committee.
The public accounts committee has also ordered an inquiry regarding the issue and directed to submit a report within 15 days. Saleem Raza Jalbani chaired a meeting of Sindh Assembly’s of Public Accounts Committee here on Wednesday. Officials of Small Industries Department disclosed to PAC that all old record of the department was burnt in Sukkur during protests in the wake of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in December 2007.
PAC chairman has shown serious concerns over the unsigned document submitted to the committee and directed to immediately initiate an inquiry into the issue and submit a report within 15 days in this regard. Officers of department were intentionally not coming due to PAC meeting.
