JAKARTA: Ms Najia Rasool, national teakwondo champion and member Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Athletes Commission, has been awarded the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sports and Environment Award for her efforts in a campaign to make awareness and achieving ‘Green Pakistan’. “Her project was endorsed and forwarded to the OCA on the recommendation of Lt Gen (r) Syed Arif Hasan, President Pakistan Olympic Association, to promote environment friendly message across the Olympic family of Asia from Pakistan,” said POA Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmood. OCA Sports and Environment Award has been launched in order to recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations that have shown initiative and taken action to drive environmental efforts and projects within their community vis-à-vis the promotion of green sports at local, national and global level throughout Asia.
