Sir: I had the unfortunate experience to fly into Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport just before midnight last Sunday. The state of mismanagement hits hard as soon as you exit the arrival concourse into the parking area. Cars, far from being parked in the clearly marked spots, are randomly placed all over the lanes, causing easily avoidable delays, frustration and confusion. The departure drop off is not much better with vehicles parked for long durations instead of the few moments prescribed for drops only. Surely this is perhaps the easiest of all responsibilities for the Civil Aviation Authority to execute efficiently. With the Prime Minister’s call to avoid VIP culture, traffic discipline at all places and especially airports must be implemented immediately.
