Sir: Lahore Waste Management (LWM) has failed to perform its duties properly and parts of the city have become garbage dumps.
n particular, large quantities of garbage have accumulated in the Gari Shahu area, Baja Line and Larechs Colony. The fact that this situation has persisted until Eid-ul-Azha is right on our head shows the negligence of the LWM. Soon, people will start dumping animal intestines and other animal-related waste in the garabage dumps in these areas, severely compounding the problem.
This is a major health hazard and the relevant authorities must take action before this city is engulfed by a plague because of the LWM’s lack of competence.
