Comsats University on Wednesday made it clear that no postings were made in the statutory bodies of the university. “The syndicate of CUI meeting held on July 31, 2018, was conducted to streamline the process of the meetings of the statutory bodies, usually called rules of business. There was nothing secret about the meeting. Representation of the faculty members was ensured in the syndicate of meeting by CUI Rector Professor Dr Raheel Qamar,” a statement issued by the university said, in response to a news story titled Rampant Adhocism In Comsats University raised many eyebrows’ which appeared in Daily Times on August 15. “A caretaker setup has been put in place to look after the national elections as per law. CUI Administration is clearly following the laid procedure as per CUI Act, 2018 as promulgated by National Assembly on April 11 and approved on April 26 by the president of Pakistan,” the statement said. “Deans of various faculties of CUI are highly qualified, internationally reputed and senior most professors in the respective faculties and are appointed on permanent basis. Thus none of the deans is on an ad-hoc basis,” it added. “In conclusion, all affairs of the CUI are strictly being run according to laid out procedures as stipulated under CUI Act, 2018,” it concluded.
