KHAIRPUR: The Islamabad Higher Education Commission (HEC) Executive Director Prof Dr Arshad Ali and his wife planted saplings in the Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), during their visit to its campus in Khairpur, and lauded the efforts of SALU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Yousuf Khushk to initiate ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ in the university. Reportedly, the drive aims to plant at least 1,400 trees in the premises of the university, and in this regard, students of the department of Mathematics, Urdu, Public Administration, Pakistan Studies and Institute of English have been playing an active role. Furthermore, several members of the Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers Association (SALUTA), Officers Welfare Association (OWA) and Employees Welfare Association (EWA) also planted trees to contribute in the national cause. Moreover, the Plantation and Beautification Section head Prof Ahsan Ali Soomro and his entire team were facilitating students. Prof Dr Abdul Razak Mahar initiated another tree plantation campaign at the SALU’s campus in Shikarpur, whereas Prof Dr Maqsood Zia and Prof Dr Syed Asif Ali Shah undertook the drives at Ghotki and Shahdadkot campuses, respectively.
