Fakhar Zaman becomes fastest to 1000 runs in ODIs

BULAWAYO: Pakistani cricketer Fakhar Zaman broke yet another record on Sunday in the last match against Zimbabwe by becoming the quickest batsman to reach 1000 runs in ODI’s  in Bulawayo.

The 28 years-old opening batsman broke the 1000-run record in just 18 innings while previously the record was of 21 innings held by legendary cricketer Sir Vivian Richards in 1980 and was recently equaled by Babar Azam.

Not only this, Fakhar also broke another record of most runs (515) by a batsman in a five-match ODI series, breaking Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza’s record of 467 runs.

Moreover, Zaman remained not out on 210 off 156 deliveries against Zimbabwe in 4th ODI as he hit five sixes and 24 boundaries and posted the highest individual ODI score by a Pakistani batsman on Friday.

He has now become the sixth batsman in the history of cricket to score a double hundred in 50 overs cricket.
