JI demands early abolishment of centuries-old FCR in FATA

KHYBER AGENCY: Ameer Jamat-e-Islami (JI) FATA, Sardar Khan has said that the century old draconian law Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) is the main hurdle in progress of tribesmen that needs to be repealed.

Addressing a press conference in Landi Kotal Press Club on Friday he said that the tribal had been deliberately kept underdeveloped and ignorant since the creation of the country while continuously imposing the black law of FCR in the tribal belt.

The political efforts of JI regarding elimination of the FCR entered into decisive phase when in all parties conference held in Islamabad in 2015, convened by JI, unanimously passed resolution of abolishing of FCR and merging of Fata to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said and adding in the light of declaration, the incumbent government constituted a reforms committee that comprised and submitted its report as per wishes of the tribesmen.

However he criticized the government for delay tactics of introducing reforms in the Fata by expelling it from the last cabinet meeting for unknown reasons that was regrettable.

Sardar Khan flanked by naib ameer FATA, Zernoor Afridi and ameer Khyber Agency Shah Faisal Afridi, he maintained that JI FATA sensing the postponement attitude of the government, decided to initiate a massive tribal set-in in front of the governor house, Peshawar to be held on 26th, 27th and 28th of Febuary, 2017 to get a respectable status for the tribesmen.

Ameer JI, FATA came hard on the Punjab government by defaming the tribal of showing media an allegedly fake Bajaur Agency origin facilitator of Lahore blast and asked the authorities to halt harassing the tribesmen in cities of Punjab.

He asked all segments of the tribal society to join hands with them by ensuring their participation in the up-coming set-in to get rid off of the British rule legacy, FCR.

Royalty: The political leader’s at all party conference demanded immediate resolution of problems related to Karrak including Sui Gase royalty, provision of power and pure water, allocation of land for Karrak University and scholarships for the students learning at different education institutions.

The provincial leadership under the banner of Karrak Right Movement old a crowded press conference at Peshawar Press Club and presented its agenda of the unification.

The leaders at the press conference urged the central government if their demands were not taken seriously and steps were not initiated the gas supply to country capital Islamabad.

The representatives at the conference claimed the pockets of rich natural resources providing Rs 400 billions revenue to state pool of treasury and there are 40 operated reservoirs of Gas.

The people of the Karak are not only deprived of royalty but from the facility of Gas or experiencing low pressure issues on daily basis.

Awami Nationa Party (ANP) Shahzia Aurnagzaib, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shamas ur Rehman, Olsasi Tehreek leaders Dr Syed Mehsud, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and leadership from ANP Wali.

The leaders said that the peoples of the region experienced the worst time of the decade but when comes to facilitation they are being ignored by the central government which would not be tolerated in future.
