HYDERABAD: Thar Education Alliance (TEA) with the cooperation of Alif Ailan organized convention with collaboration of and local community organizations on Wednesday. The head of Thar Education Alliance (TEA) Mr Partab Shivani in his address ,said that there are 4202 schools across Tharparkar ,among these schools 91% percent schools are primary schools . He further said that there is alarming situation of girls education as only 24% of total schools are girls’ schools. and there is no any single higher secondary school for girls . Mr Shivani told that the allocation of budget for these schools has decreased since last few years. While presenting the presentation, he said that 144 schools are shelter less , 840 schools are temporary closed whereas 253 are closed permanently . He added that 0.3 million school age children are out of schools in Thar and those who are in schools have poor grading in Maths and Science . The candidates, who are contesting general elections as independent candidates, participated in the discussion and presented their vision to reform Tharparkar’s despair state of education. Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Arbab Fazalullah representative of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), he said that due to the political interference in the education, the status of literacy rate was not increasing in the area. “We are expecting that if people will give them a chance to come on the floor of provincial or national assembly they will make policy and plans for the people of Thar”. He expressed. In this era, people are globally connected with the world and using innovative innovations of science and technology, the students of rural and underprivileged areas of Thar haven’t any single access of science laboratory in their school; even the infrastructure is very poor. Representing Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sushil Malani said that there are number of their family children are studying in public schools and colleges that counters the narrative that the children of wigwags enjoy better facilities and quality education in private schools. “We have always supported the people of Thar and tried to resolve their issues without any discrimination. However, we will improve the infrastructure an other facilities of schools in Thar if given chance to form government after July 25’’.Malani said. Independent candidate for the constituency of PS-56 Sunteea Parmar shared her vision for the improvement of girls’ education. Advocate Bhagwandas Bheel, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emphasized that the vision of education in the manifesto of PTI could be observed in KPK, in Thar number of schools are not functional and not opened, lacking of basic facilities couple of schools haven’t proper access and even not any specialized staff to teach children in different subjects, so hopefully will put possible efforts to make it prosper. Many other politicians, citizens , human rights activists ,and civil society members including Noor Muhammad Bajeer, Kashif Bajeer, Sidique Rahimoon, Mukesh Meghwar, Alina Khan a addressed the convention.
