ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has constituted six benches of the Supreme Court to hear hundreds of cases of various natures at the apex court’s Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi registries during the week starting today (Tuesday). According to weekly cause-list, two benches will hear cases at Supreme Court’s Islamabad Registry. Bench-1 comprises Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. Similarly, bench-II consists of Justice Gulzar Ahmad, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Faisal Arab. Likewise, two benches will hear cases at Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry during the week. Bench-I comprises Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik. Bench-II comprises Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan. Two benches will hear cases at Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry during the week. Bench-I headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar comprises Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar. Bench-II comprises Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Maqbool Baqar. According cause-list, no application for adjournment through fax or email will be placed before the court. Besides, if any counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record (AoR) will be required to argue the case. Furthermore, no adjournment on any ground will be granted.
