As Muslims, once again, in various parts of the world celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr today (Friday), celebrities, politicians, and sportsmen have extended their greetings to those celebrating the festive occasion.

Of all the celebrities and names who were part and parcel of the Eid greetings, supermodel Gigi Hadid, Pakistani activist and youngest Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Theresa May, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Indian actor and director Farhan Akhtar, Bollywood Big-B Amitabh Bachchan, Oscar-nominated The Big Sick’s Kumail Nanjiani, and cricketer Angelo Mattews were amongst those who took to social media to shed light on their excitement.

Trudeau, also amongst the first to send out greetings to the Muslim world at the start of the month of Ramazan, shared a video message with the caption saying, “Sending my best wishes to everyone celebrating Eid al-Fitr and the end of Ramazan. Eid Mubarak!”

US Secretary of State also tweeted on the social media platform, ‘On behalf of the @StateDept, I extend my best wishes to our Muslim friends and partners celebrating Eid al-Fitr. As you mark this special holiday with loved ones, I wish you peace and prosperity in the coming year. #EidMubarak”

“The end of the holy month of Ramazan is a time for Muslims to come together with family, friends and neighbours. It’s an opportunity for spiritual renewal,” UK Prime Minister Theresa May tweeted.

Sri Lanka’s Angelo Matthews and the official Twitter account of Arsenal FC also jumped on the bandwagon.

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in full swing in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, France, Belgium, Germany, and the United States today.

Pakistan will be celebrating Eid tomorrow (Saturday) since the Shawal moon was not sigted a day earlier.
