Sir: The tenure of the previous Pakistan Muslim League-Noon (PML-N) government was an extremely stressful time for the people of Lahore. At any given point over the past five years, the PML-N was running two or more major construction projects in the city. While it is true that Lahore’s road and transport infrastructure needed to be revamped, the sheer chaos this caused on Lahore’s roads did not seem worth it. Simply driving to work and returning in the evenings became an ordeal. I would ask that should the PML-N win the upcoming elections, it please let the people of Lahore have some relief, and concentrate on Punjab’s other issues. However, I know Shahbaz Sharif will not rest until he has transformed Lahore into what he thinks is a first-world metropolis. Meaning more construction for the next five years. I for one could not possibly stand that, therefore I sincerely request that all Punjab-based voters think twice before they vote for the PML-N this year. Should the PML-N win, all of us Lahorites will spend another five years in traffic jams, surrounded by clouds of dust and endless noise pollution from construction sites.
