The Sindh police have planned a massive reshuffle in the department, media reports stated on Sunday.
These reports said that transfer of several senior officials was expected ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Quoting unnamed sources, the reports said that the top brass of the police had planned to transfer officers on grades as high as BPS-20. Talks between the Sindh government and police department are underway in this regard, they said.
In the first phase, some grade-20 police officers, currently serving as zonal and range chiefs, are likely to be transferred and posted. These may include DIGs of Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Karachi’s East Zone, West Zone, DIG Traffic, DIG Special Branch and DIG Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA). In the next phase, reshuffling will be extended to rest of the posts in the department.
