Sir: Someone has very rightly said that if one wants to know how civilised a country is, all he needs to observe is the country’s traffic. By observing the drivers’ traffic discipline and patience, one can ascertain that nation’s approach to life. Unfortunately a foreigner who has the misfortune to take a taxi from Lahore or Karachi airport and travel the city for a few hours will hardly have a positive impression of the country. It is high time the concerned authorities took concrete action to tame our country’s wild traffic. Until this happen we cannot call ourselves a nation of civilised people.
