GUJRANWALA: The Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Umer Jehangir stressed that measures were adopted to enforce law and order in the district. In his address to a meeting for reviewing the security arrangements during the month of Ramzan, he said that no one would be allowed to disrupt peace and parliamentarians and the general public would be provided security. The City Police Officer (CPO) Ashfaq Khan, MPAs including Abdul Rauf Mughal, Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar, Ashraf Ali Ansari, Taufiq Butt, Ashraf Warriach, and Muhammad Nawaz Chohan were present in the meeting. The CPO urged parliamentarians to instruct the police so that necessary security measures could be devised. He asked them to arrange a trained security staff for their personal security. Meanwhile, the parliamentarians assured full cooperation to the police and district administration for the maintenance of law and order in the district. Anti corruption arrests wildlife watchman The anti corruption team raided and arrested a wildlife watcher red handed while receiving a bribe. Reportedly, a citizen Nazir Ahmed filed an application to the anti corruption that Wildlife Department enforced ban on hunting while a wildlife watcher Abdul Rauf was violating the law by allowing hunters to hunt after taking bribe. Consequently, the team arrested the accused while receiving a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the hunters. FIA arrests nine human traffickers Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched a crackdown against human traffickers and arrested nine suspects from different cities. The deputy director Mufakhir Adeel said that FIA teams raided Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad, toba Tek Singh and arrested Muhammad Amjad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhammad Aslam, Ramzan, Naeem Shahbaz, Muhammad Salman, Abdul Qayyum, Umair Ali and Imran. They were involved in transporting people to Turkey and European countries illegally. Security guard gunned down A security guard was gunned down by unidentified criminals while guarding a super store in Satellite town in Gujranwala. Reportedly, Mohsin was standing at front of the store when assailants opened fire at him. Resultantly, he died on the spot. Meanwhile, police started investigation into the incident.
