GUJRANWALA: The anti corruption team caught an excise clerk red handed while receiving a bribe in Sialkot. Reportedly, a citizen Syed Ali filed an application against the clerk Sikander Shabbir, who worked at excise and taxation department, over demanding a bribe for the preparation of PT1 as property documents. Subsequently, anti corruption team, along with judicial magistrate raided his office while he was receiving a bribe of Rs 5000 from the citizen. CPO awards best performing officers The City Police Officer (CPO) Ashfaq Khan said that officers with best performance would be awarded with honour and prizes while a stern action would be taken against corrupt officials and negligent staff. He addressed to the prize distribution ceremony, which was held in the honour of best performing police officers. He revealed that the district police succeeded to arrest 1036 criminals during the month of April. CPO awarded first prize of Rs 50,000 to SHO of Model Town Police Station Ansar Javed Mohal. Second prize of Rs 40000 was received by SHO Satellite Town Mohsin Majeed while SHO Aroop Qaisar Abbas stood on the third place. The SHO Khiali Farhat Nawaz secured 4th place and SHO Baghbanpura Arif Mehmood was ranked on 5th position. Published in Daily Times, May 8th 2018.
