HYDERABAD: A youth-based social organisation, Sindh Talented Students (STS) will organise a ‘Rising Sindh Youth Summit’ on April 30, 2018 to promote Sindhi folk and classical music, encourage artists belonging to the field of theatre and drama, and promote ‘dying’ customs and traditions those involved instruments used in the ancient times at the wedding ceremonies and other occasions as well. Nadir Hussain Chandio, a convener of the activity, shared the concept of activity with Daily Times and said that youths are engaged in many activities and forums for the evolution of society towards modernization but have gotten their culture and identity. “We want to value our customs and traditions, regarding every aspect of our society. This involves connecting people without any self-interest, possessing the power of tolerance and interfaith harmony. Sindh wants catalysts in the form of youths and I would assure their rising,” he said. Fatima Rind, a theatre artist, said that educated people must be promoted in the industry, so that they can replace dry-minded artists who have been ruining the industry since decades. Furthermore, she said that merit-based talent should be encouraged in the media industry and ‘references’ should be discarded. “Media Industry behaves like a monarchy, and such events organised by STS pave way for new artists who are passionate about acting,” she remarked.
