After investigating officials present on the scene, the NAB team held Ramzan Solangi, the private secretary to the LGD secretary. The raid was conducted on reports of illegal appointments in the department, NAB officials informed.
Meanwhile, NAB arrested three accused including two government officials involved in a land scandal.
The accused were identified as Hanif Lalani (private person), Ghulam Nabi Mallah, Tapedar Revenue Office Hyderabad, and an official of Liyar City Surveyor Directorate of City Survey Hyderabad. They were arrested in an investigation regarding usurpation of precious state land measuring 731 acres located in Deh Babar Bund Taluka Thano Boola Khan, Jamshoro.
Hanif Lalalni was the alleged mastermind of the fraud, whereas other accused connivved with him committing forgery and making fake entries in the revenue record and preparing bogus survey record, as a result of which 731 acres of state land was shown as private land and subsequently sold to a housing scheme. The land values Rs11 billion in the open market. The Accountability Court, Karachi, has remanded physical custody of the three for nine days.
According to the NAB spokesman, Ghulam Nabi Sarkar, Hyderabad City Director, Hanif Lalani, along with Director City Survey Hyderabad had seized 731 acres of government land in Jamshoro.
