While talking to media persons, Bushra Iman addressed that for protection of women at public places, the government of Punjab has initiated several steps. In accordance with Pakistan Penal Code under section 509, whosoever intended to insult the modesty of any woman, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object shall be seen, by such woman, or intrudes upon the privacy of a woman shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years or fined up to Rs 500,000 or with both. At this event, LTC Chief Operating Officer Zafar Ahmed Qureshi, Hurria Syeda from UN Women organisation and Sarah Shahzad from Aurat Foundation took part. Moreover, this campaign will be further extended with the help of LTC management; posters of the campaign will be pasted at various places which include several bus stops. In future, on the buses of LTC, this campaign will be continued to create maximum awareness among the women about their rights, so they know that their rights are being protected.
