JAMSHORO: A student from the University of Sindh was awarded with top prize in the eastern singing competition at 6th Lyallpur Art and Literature Festival held at the University of Agriculture in Faisalabad. 3rd year student of media and communication studies, Khair Muhammad Saadat, was welcomed with a round of applause. He earned the first position by singing a Punjabi song outstandingly, despite of having a Sindhi accent. Students from more than 25 universities of Pakistan participated in 30 categories including art, culture, music, calligraphy, paintings and exhibition of indigenous species in the six-day (1st-6th April 2018) Art and Literature Festival. “It has been a first time when I have performed at the national level, as a representative of Sindh and the University of Sindh that deserves this appreciation award,” Khair Muhammad Saadat expressed his feelings. Department of Media and Communication Studies Chairman Prof Dr Bashir Ahmed Memon appreciated his efforts. He pledged that the department would support every talented student.
