CHARSADDA: Acting Inspector General of Police Syed Akhtar Ali Shah on Saturday said that the nation was proud of the sacrifices rendered by the personnel of the security agencies. He said this while talking to the heirs of martyred cop Mazhar Ali, who was martyred when gunmen riding a bike attacked a police van in Chan Mari area in Tehkal in Peshawar on Friday last, here. He offered fateha for the slain cop and condolences to the bereaved family members. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mardan, Muhammad Alam Shinwari, District Police Officer Charsadda, Sohail Khalid, Superintendent Investigation Pir Shahab Khan and other senior cops accompanied the acting provincial police chief during the visit. Syed Akhtar Ali Shah lauded the sacrifice of the martyred cop, saying the police force rendered matchless sacrifices in war on terror. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police department was proud of its martyred cops, adding they share the grief of the bereaved family and would not abandoned them in the hour of need.
