DADU: Jamshoro district administration took notice of illegal hydrants being run in the towns of Jamshoro and Kotri. Constituted by Supreme Court of Pakistan, the directives of chairmain of water commission Justice (r) Amir Hani Muslim, followed the closure of five illegal hydrants. Consequently, he ordered to make 39 Rivers Osmosis (RO) plants functional at Manchhar Lake in Sehwan tehsil. Thereby, DC Jamshoro captain (r) Fareed u Ddin submitted the report to Justice (r) Amir Hani. He told media that four illegal hydrants were operating at Jamshoro and one at Kotri since 20 years. The hydrants were supplying unpurified water from Kalari Begar to the people. Often, bodies of dead animals were found in the hydrants. Furthermore, to meet the requirement of water, two hydrants would be functional at Kotri and Jamshoro after committee submits its report. Committee would be comprised of members of Health Department, Public Health Engineering Department (PHE), local government and civil society activists. Furthermore, there would be stern check and balance on the supply of water from hydrants with low rates. Illegal hydrants were found to sell water at rupees 1000 to 2000 per tanker.
