KARACHI: As many as 12 delegates from the University of Harvard in America but of German and Venezuelan origin, visited Pakistan on Monday to get a better understanding of Pakistan’s economic, political and cultural situation. Most of the visitors are doing their masters at the John F Kennedy School of Management and somestudents are from the Harvard Business School. Their trip included tours of Gilgit-Baltistan, Lahore and Karachi, including a special visit to the WWF Mangrove preservation site. The 786 Investments Ltd, a sustainable shariah asset management company, hosted a special gathering for the delegates to meet with leading industrialists, Harvard Club of Pakistan members, and some dynamic members of art and culture community. Spotted at the event were First Dawood Group Chairman Rafique Dawood, and former SECP chairman Dr Taria Hasan – who had completed a MBA from Harvard in 1967 – PACRA CEO Adnan Afaq, iCare Foundation’s Faisal Farooq Khan, Samir Hoodbhoy, Frieha Altaf, Yasmeen Lari, Amin Gulgee, Arif Ali Shah Bukhari, USAID’s Randy Hatfield, Mohammad Rajpar, WWF’s Farah Waheed, KPMG’s Moneeza Butt, Shahzad Sabir, Pervez Madraswalla and Tara Uzra Dawood among others. “We are delighted to welcome the visitors fromHarvard University,” stated Tara Uzra Dawood, CEO, 786 Investments.” All delegates went to the rooftop of BRR Tower to for thepanoramic view of Karachi, similar to views in Paris and London from their iconic landmarks.
