KARACHI: Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 finalists Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will be conducting practice sessions on Saturday at the National Stadium before the final match on Sunday.
United and Zalmi will be practicing under tight security, with no access to the public. Afterwards, the team captains Darren Sammy and Misbah-ul-Haq will appear in a press conference to address the media and pose with the PSL trophy.
Islamabad United arrived in Karachi from Dubai on Friday, carrying along international cricketers including South African all-rounder JP Duminy, New Zealand’s wicket keeper Luke Ronchi, Ashes winning Englishman Steve Finn, England’s Samit Patel and West Indian opener Chadwick Walton.
PSL one winners Islamabad United defeated Karachi Kings in the qualifier in Dubai. The team will face Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday, who flew in via Lahore after defeating Quetta Gladiators (in Elimiator) and Karachi Kings (in Qualifier 2).
Islamabad United topped the table with a total of 14 points, wining 7 matches and losing 3 out of 10 matches played. Whereas, Peshawar Zalmi stood third with 10 points.
Karachi is all set to host the PSL final in the National Stadium, with a 52-ft long and 32-ft wide stage to welcome the two captains for the PSL closing ceremony before the match.
